US Recruiter Iza

Iza S. | Recruiter

After finishing college with a degree in Psychology, I knew full well the flexibility of my reach in the field, which ranged from industrial to clinical settings. I’ve had my share of experience in the clinical setting; but later realized that I wanted to explore my horizons and start building a career in the industrial field. I began my Human Resources career in recruiting as a project-based HR Assistant eventually handling end-to-end recruitment. I found so much joy in it that I decided to pursue a full-time job in recruitment.

Starting as a new Recruiter in a different field brought its challenges. The training was tough—being in a room with other trainees who were already tenured in recruiting for the US market. Despite the challenges that came with being a new fish in the sea, I was able to pull through and got promoted in my role. These experiences opened many possibilities for me; making me capable of supporting and recruiting for different industries and allowed me to bring multiple successes for the team and myself.

Even when surrounded by the challenges of working in the staffing industry, the people I work with are some of the best I’ve gotten to know. I am privileged to be surrounded by like-minded individuals who strive for the same success while working hard and playing hard.

The profession I chose aligns perfectly with being in a people business. It’s a lot about seeing the potential in people while not losing sight of how you can successfully create a win for both job seekers and employers. AGSI’s long-standing mission of helping people find meaningful work aligns heavily with my beliefs because there will always be people who are meant to do great things but are not given the chance to, and recruiters like myself are called to build and hold that bridge for them.

AGSI has honed and allowed me to grow by entrusting me with new accounts in different industries. It gives a different kind of feeling to know that my organization has put its confidence in what I do. This has set a recurring goal for me to want to excel more in the things that I’m already good at. It made me want to keep raising the bar every time I win.

One piece of advice I’d like to share is…

“A series of challenges should not be feared. Things can be really scary and tough but if you’re surrounded by the right people who support you, you’ll always be able to pull through everything. Eventually, you’ll feel like the previous challenge was easier than you initially thought.”
